I have a four year Fine Art Diploma, my major being Ceramics, with photography as an extra subject. This is invaluable, as it adds an extra element to my articles and is a fascinating pastime, especially as I try and spend as much time as I can in the bush, animal and bird spotting. I am fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, the South African Lowveld.

I love anything to do with books and the written word, and am an avid reader and writer. To me, books are the soul of civilization, and the characters from the many books I have read over the years have sustained me through many a dull moment, and also taught me that as a lover of books, you are never lonely, bored or lost.

I am also an avid naturalist and dedicated conservationist, and spend as much time as possible studying nature's remarkable works of art, and using them in reference to my own art, be it sculptural or rendered in ink. I love all animals, and have an especially soft spot for sharks, cats and frogs, and I abhor cruelty of any kind.

My first book release is by Random House in March 2012, and is a herbal and vegetarian recipe and lifestyle book which is illustrated throughout in colour. (See author link below.) I have written (and illustrated) two children's books, and am currently researching and writing a second vegetarian cook book, a book on Spice, and a beginners pottery guide. I would love to spend more time doing research for both my writing and my art.

I am also an avid history buff, specifically of the Ancient World, and I am currently studying a Bachelors Degree (part-time), in Languages and Literature. My two majors are the Ancient Near East, and the Classics.
